Los Angeles County was placed under a flash flood warning by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 5:34 p.m. The warning is in effect until 8 p.m.
“At 5:34 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 1.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly,” says the NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA . “Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.”
