The University of Akron football team completely overwhelmed Duquesne on Sept. 20 for its first win of the season.
Toledo made sure UA didn't earn its second win Sept. 27, when the visiting Zips were the overwhelmed team in a 45-3 Mid-American Conference loss to the Rockets .
Akron (1-4, 0-1) trailed 14-0 at the end of the first quarter, 35-3 at halftime and 38-3 heading into the fourth quarter. The Rockets (3-2, 1-0) dominated 545-145 in total yards while running just one more play (61 to 60).
Only Owen Wiley's 39-yard field goal with 1:56 to play in the first half kept the Zips from being shut out.
It didn't help Akron's chances when senior starting quarterback Ben Finley was unable to play after suffering a lower-body injury in the third quarter of the Zips' 51-7 win over Duq
