MILWAUKEE -- It may not have come courtesy of a win, but the Milwaukee Brewers will officially finish the season with the best record in baseball after the Philadelphia Phillies lost Saturday.
The Brewers got a favor from their neighbors to the west, as the Twins beat the Phillies 5-0. The Brewers had a 96-64 record heading into Saturday's game against the Reds and hold the tiebreaker over the Phillies, who fell to 95-66 ahead of Sunday's regular season finale.
Now, the Brewers will have homefield advantage throughout the postseason, including the World Series if they can get there. The Brewers also automatically advance to the NLDS and will play the winner between San Diego and the Chicago Cubs.
This is the first time since 1982 that the Brewers have ended the season with baseball's be
