SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - Exactly one year ago today, Hurricane Helene devastated the lives of many. A year later, one family is choosing to honor their loved one with a concert, hoping it will bring light to the community.

“Music was our thing. We were everywhere to watch music. Our favorite band was Def Leopards, she loved poison, she loved Bret Michaels band,” said Ronnie Fletcher.

“She” is Anna Maria, Ronnie Fletcher's daughter and a woman from Spartanburg County who died when a tree fell on her home during the hurricane.

Ronnie Fletcher said they bonded over music, but since her death, it became hard for him to enjoy concerts.

The necklace he wears around his neck is what he says gives him comfort as he reflects on the kind of person she was.
