GRAND FORKS — Tents, food trucks, paper water cups and broken course records were out in full effect at the latest Border Battle on Saturday.
Various schools from across North Dakota, Minnesota and South Dakota all competed for a Battle Boat oar.
There were repeat winners and newcomers who held their own in a competitive field that is growing every year.
“We’re always looking to improve things,” Central coach and meet organizer Sean Allan said. “The list is already ongoing for next year. It is an event that the community loves and spectators love because everyone gets a chance to see the runners more than once.”
Allan is in favor of adding some of the larger Minnesota programs to future meets, such as Edina or Wayzata.
