BUFFALO, N.Y. — Kicker Chris Freeman nailed his longest field goal of the year with 11 seconds remaining Saturday, as the UConn football team outlasted the Buffalo Bulls 20-17.

Freeman, a graduate student, has been one of the Huskies’ most underrated players the past two seasons and shined when everyone was watching on Saturday.

His 44-yard field goal gave the Huskies their first road victory of 2025. UConn improved to 3-2, while Buffalo fell to 2-3.

Freeman’s clutch kick came after UConn quarterback Joe Fagnano led the offense on a 49-yard drive in 53 seconds to get into field goal range.
