PLAINVIEW, Texas (KCBD) - After going into the locker room with a 45-40 halftime lead, the Wayland Baptist Pioneers (2-2) were able to limit the Texas College Steers to just one score in the second half and pull away with a 73-47 victory.

“They have a really strong desire to win, and it shows in the work ethic Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and then on Saturdays,” said head football coach Marcos Hinojos. “We’re going to make some mistakes. We’ve got enough young people, freshmen new to Wayland, and so the coaches take what they can, what they’ll give us, and then the kids just perform well when called upon, and so I’m pretty excited about that.”
