The Saskatchewan Roughriders have lost a second straight game for the first time this season.

On Saturday night in Week 17 of the CFL season, the Roughriders dropped to 10-4 on the year following a 27-25 loss to the Edmonton Elks, who improved to 6-9 to stay alive in the West Division playoff race.

It was a slow start for the Riders, who had three turnovers in the first half, as they were outscored 11-0 early before adding a field goal as the first half expired.

In the second half, the Riders took their first lead of the game with another field goal by Brett Lauther before Edmonton running back Justin Rankin scored touchdowns on back-to-back drives to put the Elks up 24-12.
