ALBANY — Each fall the most ambitious birdwatchers from throughout the Capital Region gather at one local preserve to prove their chops. This year, among a field of nearly 60 veteran peers, a team featuring two teenagers walked away victorious.
The Barrens Birding Blitz birdwatching competition trophy was awarded Sept. 20 to Team Flyover — two teens, a younger brother and a mother — at the Albany Pine Bush Preserve. The foursome spotted 58 species of birds during the course of five hours while traversing the preserve.
