CORVALLIS, Ore. — Oregon State came up just short in a 27-24 overtime loss to Houston on Saturday, marking the Beavers’ first 0-5 start since 1996.
“Dominated that game until the last six minutes, and it totally flipped. We’ve got to finish. Bottom line,” said Oregon State head coach Trent Bray after the loss.
Coming into the matchup, Houston entered 3-0 riding momentum, while Oregon State was 0-4.
The Beavers came out strong, quickly jumping out to a 14-0 lead. Jake Reichle punched the ball into the end zone from a yard out to get Oregon State on the board in the first quarter. Marquis Crosby doubled the lead with a five-yard touchdown reception, capping a 70-yard scoring drive.
Houston responded late in the half, pulling within four at 14-10 heading into halftime.
