WINNIPEG, Man. — Neal Pionk had a goal and assist and the Winnipeg Jets scored three goals in the first period en route to a 4-2 victory over the visiting Calgary Flames.

Walker Duehr, Nikita Chibrikov and Parker Ford also scored for the Jets, who outshot the visitors 29-24.

Zayne Parekh and Matvei Gridin scored for the Flames, and Morgan Frost chipped in with two assists. The Flames went 1-for-2 on the power play, while the Jets were 1-for-3.

Flames netminder Devin Cooley stopped 25 of the 29 shots he faced, while Eric Comrie stopped 22 of 24 shots in the Jets net.

The Flames outhit the Jets 22-13, while the hosts blocked more shots (13-9).
