STERLING HEIGHTS – The Hanson’s Invitational for cross-country can sometimes be more of a mathematical equation, at least for those running the meet.
There’s meets within the meet, all types of races pre-determined by all individual times submitted for each runner, and multiple team champions, medalists and even T-shirt winners.
Boys that had recorded times of 18:00 or under earlier this season, boys with times at 21:00 and under and boys that had season-best times above 21 minutes were broken down into three different races. Likewise for the girls, where runners at 23:00 and under, 26:00 and under and above 26:00 were broken down into three different races.
The top 30 finishers in each race were issued Hanson’s T-shirts while the top 50 runners based on times from all heats earned meda
