New Delhi, Sept 28: Surat, India’s diamond and textile hub, is enhancing passenger and freight rail services through redevelopment initiatives and the introduction of new trains.

The Prime Minister launched the Amrit Bharat Express, connecting Odisha and Gujarat, featuring ergonomic seating, twin-engine safety, and affordable fares (Rs 495 for General class, Rs 795 for Non-AC sleeper).

This 1700 km service benefits entrepreneurs and pilgrims alike. Concurrently, Indian Railways is redeveloping stations like Udhna and Surat with a modern focus for the next 50 years, improving capacity and using advanced tech.

The High-Speed Rail project will connect Surat to Mumbai in one hour, boosting connectivity and economic growth, while setting new standards in railway technology.
