Motherwell captain Liam Gordon says momentum is everything in football, so it was important to follow up last week’s cup victory at Aberdeen with a first Premiership win. ‌

Stoppage-time goals from Australian pair Johnny Koutroumbis and Apostolos Stamatelopoulos earned the Steelmen a 2-0 win, their first in the league and under boss Jens Berthel Askou, pushing them up to fourth in the table. ‌

It was also a first league goal for Stamatelopoulos, and follows up last weekend’s 1-0 triumph at Pittodrie, earning Motherwell a place in the Premier Sports Cup semi-finals. ‌
