TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Plans for a data center in Pima County are back on after TEP filed with the ACC for an energy service agreement with Beale Infrastructure .
That filing has advocates opposed to the project focused on making electricity in the city public.
“Project Blue opened a deal with TEP so TEP has been the leverage point for Project Blue to come back to Tucson,” No Desert Data Center Coalition organizer Eliseo Gomez said. “Tucson Water is a public utility and that’s why we had so much leverage in the first fight. If TEP was a public utility, we’d have the same amount of leverage in the fight here.”
