FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Europe’s Shane Lowry stood outside a Port-A-Potty next to the 12th tee late Saturday afternoon at Bethpage Black, arms crossed, waiting for his teammate before he headed down the fairway.

He shook his head for most of the 45 seconds or so he stood there, with a detached smile almost of disbelief. But it didn’t take long into his wait to realize why he wasn’t leaving without his teammate.

“Walk!” a fan screamed, with others instantly joining in throwing various expletives at Lowry, almost too fast to keep track.

“What the f--- are you waiting for?” another fan said.

“Move!” boomed another disembodied voice, adding a vulgar comment on Lowry’s weight.
