Australian billionaire Clive Palmer has announced he will challenge an international tribunal’s decision that ordered him to pay $13 million for the government’s legal costs.

Mr Palmer was ordered to pay the legal costs following a $300 billion dispute over whether his WA mining proposal was unfairly blocked by the government.

He had argued he was a foreign investor, but the tribunal ruled it had no jurisdiction over the Australian government and Mr Palmer, an Australian citizen.

In a media release on Sunday, Mr Palmer said he and his legal team would take the matter to the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland.

“The Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland would be the next step in the journey to achieve justice in the matter,” Mr Palmer said.
