SANDY, Utah (ABC4 Sports) - Real Salt Lake desperately needed three points to stay in the MLS playoff hunt, and RSL came through in a big way Saturday night against Austin FC.
Braian Ojeda, DeAndre Yedlin and Victor Olatunji all scored goals in a 3-1 victory, as RSL moved to within one point of the Western Conference play-in game with three games remaining.
After a scoreless 45 minutes, RSL broke through when Ojeda picked up a pass from centerback Justen Glad and unleashed a long-range effort from outside the box. The shot took a deflection off a defender, wrong-footing the goalkeeper and nestling into the back of the net to give RSL a 1-0 lead in the 45th minute.
