While the University of Oklahoma football team is taking a break during its bye week, one familiar face from the field is reflecting on a summer filled with international competition and school spirit.

OU’s feature twirler, Samantha Rizzo, says the opportunity to perform at Sooners games is a dream come true.

“It's truly a surreal experience being able to represent such a large university and just amazing people,” Rizzo said.

Rizzo began twirling at the age of three, describing it as second nature after years of training. She says large stadium performances feel less intimidating than pep rallies or events like Heisman Park, where she is closer to the crowd.
