Hunter Stratton had a strong showing against his former team on Friday night.

The Sullivan East High School graduate pitched a scoreless inning for the Atlanta Braves in their 9-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Taking over for starting pitcher Joey Wentz with zero outs in the fourth inning and two runners on base, Stratton issued a walk to Spencer Horwitz to load the bases.

The right-hander then buckled down and struck out Tommy Pham and Jack Suwinski before retiring Nick Yorke on an inning-ending grounder.

Drafted by Pittsburgh in the 16th round of the 2017 MLB Amateur Draft, he made his big-league debut with the organization in 2023.
