By the end of her career as a playback singer and music composer, the ‘Nightingale of India’ had lent her voice to anywhere between 25,000 and 30,000 songs.
The golden voice that awed generations of Indians, Mangesh kar recorded songs in more than 36 Indian languages, besides Russian and Malay. In 2023, Rolling Stone featured her on its list of “200 Best Singers of All Time”. She was the only Indian artist on the list. Show Full Article
