CHENNAI: Security was beefed up at actor and TVK leader Vijay’s residence in Neelankarai on Sunday following a stampede at his political rally in Karur, which left 39 people dead and over 100 injured. In addition to local Chennai city police, CRPF personnel were deployed around his home to prevent any untoward incidents. Barricades were set up in the area to restrict crowd movement. Vehicles entering the stretch are also being checked.
