A loving couple plunged 180ft to their deaths after stepping over a cliff while holding hands.

Their family has now spoken out, telling how they were "completely devoted to each other" up to their final heart-wrenching choice.

David, 80, and Susan Jeffcock, 74, took one final journey together as they left their flat and climbed up the 199 steps and to the cliffs that overlook Whitby.

As they went, they had left a note back at the flat for their solicitor to find.
