Jerusalem: Israel is encountering heightened international pressure on multiple fronts as the conflict in Gaza continues, with the effects extending into diplomacy, trade, sports, and culture.

The European Commission has proposed suspending certain trade concessions granted under the EU–Israel Association Agreement, citing concerns over human rights provisions.

If adopted by EU member states, the move would impact billions of euros in Israeli exports to Europe, Israel’s largest trading partner. Some European nations have also announced partial arms embargoes, while Norway’s sovereign wealth fund has reduced certain investments connected to Israel. Approval of EU measures, however, remains subject to debate among member governments, with some calling for a cautious approach.
