The Greater Dolaigaon Durga Puja Committee of Bongaigaon, Assam observed a quiet and emotional Durga Puja this year, paying heartfelt tribute to the late cultural icon Zubeen Garg, whose untimely death has cast a deep shadow over the state.

The passing of Zubeen Garg, the state's beloved singer, composer, actor, and cultural ambassador of Assam, has left the state in mourning. Even during the auspicious festival of Durga Puja, the usual air of celebration has given way to collective grief. Worshippers and locals alike have called off most cultural events associated with the festivities, choosing instead a solemn atmosphere of remembrance.
