NEW DELHI: Former Delhi captain and domestic cricket legend Mithun Manhas was appointed as the new president of the BCCI. Rajeev Shukla, who took over as interim president after Roger Binny stepped down, will continue as vice-president. Manhas, who played 157 first-class matches in his career, is the 37th president of the BCCI. Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Jitendra Singh officially announced Mithun Manhas's appointment through an email.
In his sporting career, Mithun has represented three franchises in the IPL - Delhi Daredevils, Pune Warriors and Chennai Super Kings. Despite his stupendous form in the domestic format, Mithun never received a call from the national team. He has also worked as the coach of the Gujarat Titans in the 2022 IPL season.
