The death toll has risen to 40 in the tragic Karur stampede on Sunday, confirmed Collector M Thangavel. Addressing a press conference, he stated that Chief Minister MK Stalin arrived at the site on the same night and directed immediate medical care for the injured. He informed that a help desk has been set up at the hospital to assist affected families. Thangavel reiterated that the Tamil Nadu government has taken necessary steps to prevent further casualties and ensure public safety.
