Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Sunday sent the accused Partha Sarthy alias Chaitanyananda Saraswati to 5-day police custody. The self-styled ‘godman’ is accused of allegedly molesting female students pursuing PGDM courses under the EWS scholarship and forgery. He was apprehended from a hotel in Agra late last night by Delhi Police Crime Branch.

Saraswati had been absconding after the Delhi Police had registered a case against him under different sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). His car, with a fake UN number plate, was also impounded earlier. The statements of 32 girls were recorded, out of which 17 alleged “abusive language, obscene WhatsApp/SMS messages, and unwanted physical contact by him.” The victims were the students pursuing PGDM courses under the EWS scholarship at
