The BCCI on Sunday rolled out a lucrative incentive program to encourage players to play more matches in a domestic season. The Indian cricket board has been adamant in prioritizing domestic cricket. Making a path-breaking decision, the BCCI set to splurge an additional INR 1 crore over a cricketer for playing 14 first-class matches in a season.
The decision was taken during the board’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mumbai. Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh, who represented the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) in the AGM, spoke to the media and confirmed that the board is willing to pay more to those who will play more.
