Leaders with Reimagine Chatham will unveil a new brand to the community on Oct. 8.

The event is planned for 6:30 p.m. at the Pittsylvania County History Research Center and Library, which is located at 340 Whitehead St. in Chatham.

Reimagine Chatham isn’t an organization necessarily, but rather an idea and concept, Dick Camp, the co-chair of the steering committee, explained to the newspaper last month.

With help from partner groups including the Chatham Rotary Club, Chatham First, the local NAACP, the Pittsylvania County Historical Society and area businesses, Reimagine Chatham first devised a 73-page Chatham Area Growth & Renewal Strategic Plan that involved the entire community.

With 81 action items in the plan, it’s divided into short-, medium- and long-term projects.
