‘So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation” (2 Cor. 5:17–18).

Many of us are tired of living in a culture war. Sometimes it seems the culture war has become totalizing: everything is interpreted through it. Christians, too, are caught up in this battle, tempted either to enter the fray or retreat entirely. But scripture points to a third way. We are not to fight for victory in a culture war, but to serve as ministers of reconciliation.
