Residents at Golden West Senior Living in Boulder have something to look forward to every day: lunch at The Iris Bistro created by a renowned chef and served on fancy red tablecloths.
Boulder Housing Partners, which now operates Golden West, revitalized the kitchen and cafeteria to offer daily lunch, bringing the restaurant back after it had been closed for 18 months. The kitchen is staffed by clients of Imagine!, a Lafayette-based nonprofit founded in 1963 that supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, or IDD.
“I can’t tell you how many people came up to us and thanked us for bringing the food back,” BHP executive director Jeremy Durham said. “It’s something the community loved for years.”
