BUENOS AIRES: There has been widespread protest in Argentina over the brutal torture and murder of three women, including a minor, by a drug mafia. Lara Gutierrez (15) and cousins Brenda del Castillo (20) and Morena Verdi (20) were killed. The murder was livestreamed on Instagram. In the video, a man believed to be the mafia boss warned that this is what would happen if someone stole drugs.

The girls were kidnapped on the pretext of a party on the 19th. Five days later, their bodies were found buried in the yard of a house in the southern part of Buenos Aires. Three men and two women were arrested in the incident. The main mastermind of the murder, a 20-year-old Peruvian national, is absconding.
