OAKLAND COUNTY, MI – Police have launched an investigation after an individual was discovered dead in a home during a welfare check.

Investigators, at this time, said there are no obvious signs of foul play.

Bloomfield Township police were dispatched around 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, to a home in the 4600 block of Hedgewood Drive. Officers were called to perform a welfare check.

Upon arrival, police found a dead individual inside the home. Officers also located a distressed family member in the residence.

Crisis negotiators were called as a precaution, and the family member was taken into protective custody.
