But experts warn this won't make any difference - and will only result in you spending more money.
Turning up the thermostat high won't warm a home any quicker, it just sets a higher target temperature for it to eventually get to.
Homeowners should set the temperature they want to aim for - usually advised to be around 18C to 20C.
