Several people were said to be wounded after a shooting incident was reported at a church in Michigan, local authorities said.
The incident took place at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, a community located about 50 miles north of Detroit.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the Grand Blanc Township Police Department confirmed that "multiple victims" were reported and that the suspected shooter was "down", news agency Reuters reported.
"There is no threat to the public at this time. The church is actively on fire," Reuters quoted the police department as saying, who also urged residents to avoid the area as emergency crews worked at the scene.
