Wednesday night, Ryan Walters announced that he is stepping down from his role as State Superintendent.

In Thursday's State Board of Education meeting, Walters did not address the resignation or answer any questions from the media.

As questions loomed regarding the details of his resignation, Walters used his opening remarks to discuss Charlie Kirk.

The governor's office and fellow state board of education members both say they have not received any kind of letter of resignation from Walters.

"We did not hear anything about resignation. We heard on TV last night," said Rep. Dick Lowe, R-Amber.
