For the third time this season, Coconino (2-3, 1-0 4A Grand Canyon) took a loss in what ended up as a one-possession game as it fell 27-24 to the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs (2-3, 0-0 5A Northwest) on Saturday night in Peoria. Initially postponed after Sunrise Mountain’s field flooded as a result of Friday’s constant rainfall, the game shifted back from its planned kickoff time by nearly an hour and a half on Saturday as continued storms in the area included lightning.
