Between preseason games on Saturday and Monday the Bruins made their first rounds of roster cuts.

With the seasons looming just over a week away Boston sent Joey Abate, Luke Cavallin, Ty Cheveldayoff, Jackson Edward, Colin Felix, Ty Gallagher, Loke Johansson, Jake Schmaltz, Max Wanner and Simon Zajicek.

None of the players were in the Boston preseason lineup in their 4-3 win over the Flyers in Philadelphia on Saturday.

The Bruins have three more preseason games this week — Monday, Thursday and Saturday — before opening at Washington on Oct. 6.

They’ll still have several round of cuts before getting down to 23 before facing the Capitals.
