Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday conducted a detailed review of the flood situation in Jalna and Latur, directing district administrations to intensify relief and rescue operations and ensure citizen safety as heavy rainfall continues to lash the Marathwada region.

According to ANI, at a meeting with the Jalna District Collector, Fadnavis was told that 26 revenue circles had reported heavy rainfall and 48 out of 51 water projects were overflowing. Relief efforts so far have relocated 225 residents from Bhoipur, Arjunnagar, Lalbagh and Khandasari, while 52 citizens were rescued from floodwaters.

Since June, nine people have died in Jalna due to rain-related incidents, with compensation already provided to the families of seven victims.
