Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has previously lauded Gareth Southgate amid reports that the former England boss is shortlisted to replace Ruben Amorim . The Portuguese head coach is under pressure after suffering their latest defeat in Saturday's 3-1 disappointment at Brentford.

The loss meant that United still haven't won back-to-back Premier League games under Amorim as they failed to carry the momentum from their win over Chelsea last weekend. United slipped to 14th with Brentford leapfrogging them in the process and it has led to reports that a managerial shortlist is already being compiled to replace the 40-year-old.
