SAN FRANCISCO. (WILX) - Former Grand Ledge basketball star forward Al Horford has committed to a multi-year deal from the Golden State Warriors according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Horford spent the last seven of his nine seasons playing with Boston and won the NBA championship in 2024 with the Celtics. Horford will now play his 19th NBA season with the Warriors.
Horford went to Grand Ledge High School and set seven school records and was named the Class A Player of the Year for his senior season. He then went to Florida 2004-2007 and was drafted third overall in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks.
He now joins former Michigan State forward Draymond Green, Stephen Curry, and Jimmy Butler on Golden State.
