CHAMPAIGN — Bret Bielema and Illinois football edged up to No. 22 in the most recent US LBM Coaches Poll , which was released Sunday.

The Illini (4-1) moved up one spot after a dramatic 34-32 victory on Saturday over then-No. 23 USC, won when David Olano nailed a 41-year field goal at the buzzer.

Illinois , which travels to meet Purdue on Saturday, is among six Big Ten Conference teams in the new rankings , including No. 1 Ohio State, No. 2 Oregon, No. 6 Penn State, No. 9 Indiana and No. 20 Michigan.
