ATLANTA — Georgia and Georgia Tech both fell in the Associated Press top-25 rankings released Sunday, a day after the Bulldogs were beaten at home by Alabama and the Yellow Jackets survived overtime against Wake Forest.

UGA fell from No. 5 to No. 12 while Tech fell one place, from No. 16 to No. 17.

The loss Saturday night for the Dawgs was their first at home in six years, resulting in their lowest ranking in as nearly long a time frame -- Georgia was last No. 12 on December 6, 2020.

Coach Kirby Smart pointed to the Tide's 13-for-19 conversion rate on third downs as a key factor in the 24-21 loss.
