STILLWATER — Oklahoma State fired defensive coordinator Todd Grantham on Sunday afternoon.

Grantham joined the coaching staff during the off-season and served just four games into a three-year contract.

Clint Bowen, a quality control coach, will become OSU's interim defensive coordinator. He's spent 14 seasons as a FBS coordinator during his career.

The news comes just five days after the school abruptly parted ways with head coach Mike Gundy .

OSU has struggled mightily on defense this season and hasn't shown may signs of improvement. In Saturday's 45-27 loss to Baylor, the Cowboys allowed 612 yards.

The Cowboys' defense is allowing 473.0 yards per game, which is 129th out of 136 schools. OSU is also allowing 35.0 points per game, which is also 129th in the country.
