The Public Information Office reports the arrest of a Roosevelt man for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (Leandra’s Law) on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 9:43 PM in Roosevelt. According to Police, officers observed a 2004 Chevrolet on John Street in the vicinity of Whitehouse Avenue failing to maintain lane and initiated a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop. When officers approached the vehicle, they observed the driver holding a 5 month old male. An investigation at scene found the driver, Defendant Luis Monge Saldivar, 25, to be intoxicated. When officers attempted to place the defendant into custody he did resist, but was arrested shortly after without any further incident. The child was released to a family member.
