FAYETTEVILLE -- Bobby Petrino will serve as the interim head coach for the remainder of the 2025 football season following the dismissal of Sam Pittman on Sunday.

The firing of Pittman came one day after the Razorbacks were soundly beaten by Notre Dame 56-13 in front of 75,111 fans in Razorback Stadium. It became apparent that the end of was drawing near for Pittman. The one-sided loss to Notre Dame and then the late fumbles against Ole Miss and Memphis made the move to fire Pittman not that surprising.

The University of Arkansas announced the firing in a press release with Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Hunter Yurachek releasing the following statement.
