New Orleans Saints offensive lineman Cesar Ruiz was carted into the locker room at halftime against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
Ruiz suffered what appeared to be a right ankle injury near the end of the first half. The ankle got rolled up from behind, and trainers were tending to him on the field, but Ruiz made it off the field on his own power back to the sideline.
Then, a few minutes later, as the Saints headed to the locker room for halftime, Ruiz was seen being carted off the field. His injury was officially reported as an ankle injury with his return to the game listed as questionable.
Undrafted rookie Torricelli Simpkins III came in to replace the veteran in his sixth season.
