Pickleball is having quite a moment in Macomb County.
Not only does the country’s fastest-growing sport continue to be enjoyed by thousands of area residents, but many municipal leaders are excited because new courts are being built in some long vacant big box buildings, adding to the local economy.
In other cases, pickleball courts are replacing underused tennis courts at various school districts and municipal campuses.
