Thiruvananthapuram ( Kerala ) [India], September 28 (ANI): Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala on Sunday expressed deep sorrow over the Karur stampede in Tamil Nadu in which at least 40 people were killed, urging authorities to conduct a thorough inquiry and ensure proper compensation and support for the families of the victims.

Speaking to ANI, "This is a shocking incident, and a proper inquiry should be instituted. For those people who have lost their lives, their families should be helped, and they should be given proper compensation . This incident should not be repeated anywhere in our country... I pay homage to all the people who lost their lives."
